How long do results last?

Results from fractional skin resurfacing treatment tends to be gradual and progressive. Fractional skin resurfacing treatments are most commonly conducted on the face, however it can also be applied to either the neck or hands for positive long-lasting results. Possible side effects?

All medical and cosmetic procedures come with a degree of risk. Side effects from fractional skin resurfacing can include short term redness, swelling, itching and pain. Surrounding thermal damage is minimal. Our trained medical staff always does everything possible to minimize side effects and we are always happy to answer all questions and can direct you to more detailed procedure paperwork upon request.

Is it just one treatment?

The number of treatment sessions required varies from patient to patient and how dramatic a shift the target end goal is from your current state. As part of your initial free consultation with a member of our team, we will assess your unique situation and give you an estimate on how many treatment sessions are likely to be required. In general 2-4 treatment sessions are typically required for fractional skin resurfacing.

Who should avoid it?

As part of your initial free consultation our team will ask you a number of questions related to health and medical history to help ensure fractional skin resurfacing is right for you. In general, it is not recommended for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an autoimmune disease, have had radiation therapy to the target area, have a history of keloid scars, or a history of an outward turning eyelid (for face treatment).

Is it a facial?

While the face is the most commonly requested fractional skin resurfacing treatment area, this procedure is not considered a facial. Unlike the many facial options we offer at Essence Medical, fractional skin resurfacing is one of only two that uses laser technology.
